Welcome to our new Web site!
We have created this site to share our experiences of developing our
home called Fir Trees Barn. It has proved to be a challenging, yet rewarding
project to convert a barn into our home and we hope to share
some of the highs and lows! We have lots of pictures and information do
click away.

Technological v Ecological

We have tried to incorporate as many green initiatives as practical into
the barn such as rainwater recycling and natural materials such as
casein paints whilst at the same time taking advantage of technology
with distributed audio, video and data systems. In summary we have tried
to incorporate the technology in a sympathetic way to ensure the true
feeling of an old, stone barn is not lost. Read more about it in our
